Gut bacteria improve cancer drug performance

Research covered on CANCERactive from the University of Chicago led by Thomas Gajewski, MD, PhD has shown that certain bacteria, for example Bifidobacterium, enhanced the immune system’s response to a cancer. It produced results with ordinary drugs comparable to te new immunotherapy drugs.

Gut bacteria are essential to your good health. And you cannot get better until they get better. But this finding was unexpected. Bifidobacteria made chemo drugs work better. It acts like an immunotherapy.
